Filmography

In my life and work I have always tried to find meanings, discover patterns, and make connections. I believe that the seeds for most everything I have done were sown in a rose garden when I was ten years old. One of my household chores was watering the roses which I did each evening as the sun was setting. I would always have a book with me. My favorites were biographies and fairy tales from around the world. I would read standing up and watering. I would dream of what other people did and how they did it and why. These books and dreams made me intensely curious about the world. Who are we all? How are we the same? How are we different? The other major influence has been my mother and her sixty years of painting portraits. What does she see in someone's face and why and what are we looking at when we look at someone else. For me making films has provided me with a reason to look closely, ask questions, move around, and reflect.
